Donald Trump is not only far-right, he is its current figurehead: true or false?

The president-elect of the United States ticks all the boxes allowing him to be classified on the far right of the political spectrum: a penchant for authoritarianism, the questioning of certain aspects of liberal democracy and the threat against his political opponents.

Iannounced that he would use military force against his political opponents. That he would order the deportation of millions of immigrants. That he would clean up the Department of Justice. He said the United States had been too lenient with its democratic allies and too harsh with those seen as its authoritarian rivals. So many stones sown which suggest that Donald Trump, the new elected president of the United States, may be placed on the extreme right of the political field.

Should we go so far as to qualify it as fascist ? Kamala Harris did not hold back during her campaign, quoting Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, who considered that his former boss met the definition of fascism. His former chief of staff, Mark Milley, said he was “fascist to the core”.
