Grand Duchess Maria Teresa takes a close interest in this event, allowing her to find Christmas objects and gifts. This year, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa stopped by the Swedish booth, interested in traditional decorations, while Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie spotted a wool sweater, an ideal gift for her husband, the Hereditary Grand Duke William. Stéphanie de Luxembourg was also interested in a collection of wooden toys that might appeal to her sons, Prince Charles and Prince François.
Grand Duke Henri’s wife also follows up on the event throughout the year. Last April, she attended the check presentation ceremony to the 48 associations which were supported by the bazaar. In 2023, the three days of sales resulted in a profit of 505,000 euros, which was then distributed between the associations.
The associations supported by Bazar International Luxembourg are mainly foreign organizations. “We focus on victims of poverty, violence or social isolation in general, and on the empowerment of women and girls in particular”explain the organizers. “We don’t just want to help these charities, we want to make sure that our donations actually make a difference, that they allow these charities to grow, to make them stronger for the future, in other words , that they have an impact. »
