An 11-year-old boy made a gruesome discovery Halloween night when he found his parents dead in the kitchen of their home, police say.
The Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the boy called 911 around 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 to report that his parents had been killed at their home in Longview, Washington. northwest United States) near the Oregon border, reports Law & Crime. At the scene, police found a man and a woman on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood. Paramedics pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

Police identified the couple as Juan Antonio Alvarado Saenz, 38, and his wife Cecilia Robles Ochoa, 39. Their 11-year-old son was home at the time of the incident but did not see or hear anything. The boy was in another room playing video games with headphones, police said.
Autopsies determined that Alvarado Saenz died from multiple stab wounds to the chest, while Robles Ochoa was the victim of gunshots and stab wounds. Investigators found a knife and a gun nearby. Alvarado Saenz allegedly stole the weapon from his workplace, his employers not realizing it was missing before the incident.

Law enforcement concluded that the couple had been “fighting,” but they could not determine who the “primary aggressor” was. Police interviewed several people who knew them and told them that Alvarado Saenz and Robles Ochoa were having “relationship problems” and were considering separating.
A campaign launched on the GoFundMe site indicates that they leave behind three children.
“We have tragically lost two members of our family and are looking to fund their funerals and help keep the family and their three children on their feet,” the fundraiser description reads. “Please give what you can to the family, thank you. God bless.”
