US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the return of hard-liner Tom Homan to head the agency responsible for border and immigration control (ICE).
“The Tsar of the Borders”. In a message published on his Truth Social network this Sunday, November 10, Donald Trump indicated the former director of ICE and pillar of border control, Tom Homan, will join his administration where he will be responsible for our country's borders.
During his campaign, the 78-year-old president-elect promised to launch, on the first day of his mandate, the largest operation to deport illegal migrants in the history of the United States.

Thomas Douglas Homan, 62, is not unknown to the general public. He had already led ICE during Donald Trump's previous term.
Prior to that, the West Carthage, N.Y., native served as a Border Patrol agent, including roles as an investigator and supervisor.
He then withdrew from his duties to join the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
separate children from their parents to limit immigration
In recent years, Tom Homan has developed his notoriety thanks to his regular and committed positions on immigration.
During Trump's first presidency, he had been one of the strongest supporters of separating children from their parents as a way to deter illegal entry into the country and curb human trafficking.
“Most parents don't want to be separated (…) I'd be lying to you if I didn't think it would have an effect,” he declared.
As a reminder, under this mandate, nearly 4,000 migrant children were separated from their parents and placed in detention.
