The drama took place after an argument, without violence, between the child's parents. After the quarrel, the mother would have retired to a bedroom located upstairs, while the father would have gone to bed on a sofa located on the ground floor.

“When he woke up, he found that the car, which was in front of the house, had disappeared. The father thought that the child had left with his mother because he did not hear any noise,” the police said.

It was once upstairs that the father discovered his son's body.

The mother was found and arrested this Sunday. Both parents were arrested, but have not yet been questioned.

“It’s horrible, awful,” lamented Béatrice Moureau, mayor of Berloz. “It’s unimaginable to go to such extremes on a child. It's so sad. According to neighbors, this family was very discreet. The parents just said hello and goodbye, but nothing more. They were not known,” she added.
