They will discuss together “the impact of these events” on the community, according to a spokesperson for the Prime Minister.
The exchange will take place behind closed doors, “so that they can communicate in complete tranquility”.
Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof had already described “anti-Semitic attacks against Israelis” as “unacceptable” in a message posted on his X account on Friday morning. He then declared, on the sidelines of a European summit in Budapest, that he was “deeply ashamed that this could happen to the Netherlands in 2024”.
The head of Israeli diplomacy will urgently go to Amsterdam after the clashes
The Israeli authorities reacted very strongly, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying they consider “the appalling incident with the greatest seriousness” and “demand (the Dutch authorities) to act vigorously and quickly against the rioters”. He also announced the sending of planes to repatriate Israeli supporters. Israeli President Isaac Herzog denounced “an anti-Semitic pogrom”.
