Iit was very popular again in Spain. In Catalonia, in the province of Girona, near Cadaqués more precisely, the streets were flooded, local media report. A video published by the Catalan meteorological service shows water flowing through the streets of Cadaqués.
However, he doesn’t have much more than that. The mayor of the town in question says that the bad weather mainly affected the neighboring mountains. The water flowed to a stream which crosses Cadaqués, a stream which overflowed.
There are (for the moment) no victims, only material damage, mainly to vehicles: around thirty cars were swept away by the intense rains, reports the Spanish daily The Country.
“There was a lot of water that fell on the mountain and, even though there was almost no rain in the city, the water washed away some parked cars,” said the mayor of Cadaqués, Pia Serinana.
The rains were recorded between two and three in the morning. Around 100 liters per square meter fell in a very localized manner, adds The Country. Cars blocked the mouth of the stream towards the sea, causing water levels to rise significantly in the urban area.
