In the town of Paiporta, a town of 25,000 inhabitants located south of Valencia (Spain), floods caused considerable damage in a few hours. Some residents lost everything.
Without respite, an army of local residents and volunteers tackle a colossal construction site, attempting to sweep the water and mud from the streets. Faced with the devastated homes, the residents of Paiporta in the Spanish province of Valencia are distraught: “My daughter lives here and she lost everything. The cars even drove into his house.”laments an old lady.
Everyone must now rely on their loved ones and around a hundred volunteers to evacuate tons of rubble and mud. A local resident is outraged by the situation and the government's failures, according to her.
However, on certain cleared roads, the authorities and rescuers are not left out. During the afternoon of Friday, November 1, even the army arrived as reinforcements. At the moment, running water is still not available and electricity has only been restored to a few places in the city.
