“We are facing the obvious theft of the elections” – Libération

The Georgian president announced that she would not recognize the results of the country's legislative elections, which resulted in the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party winning. In an interview with “Libé”, she denounces an “operation” orchestrated by Moscow.

The coming days promise to be tense in Georgia. The victory of the ruling party, Georgian Dream, is contested by the entire pro-European opposition which denounces massive fraud during the legislative elections which were held on Saturday October 26. At their head, the president of the country, Salomé Zourabichvili, refuses to recognize the result and calls on Georgians to take to the streets this Monday, October 28 at 7 p.m. (4 p.m. in Paris) against what she judges to be a “Russian special operation”.
