Dear readers,

Francis’ invention of “ sin against synodality » could be the most discreet and most striking fact of this “religious” return to school. The appearance of this strange theological subject, alarming for freedom of conscience and thought in the Churchhowever, did not provoke any reaction from those who should have been startled. I think of the left wing of Catholicism, always quick to denounce, with good reason, the indoctrination of thought.

In its defense, we will invoke the terrible abundance of anxiety-provoking news this fall. Let us add, in the area that interests us here, the profound indifference of the media, the crowds and the faithful, for the second session of the Roman synod on the governance of the Church. And this, despite the immense ambition of this synod, to work towards the metamorphosis of a hierarchical, centralized, dogmatic Church towards a democratic, regionalized, liberated community.
