Headless body of 10-year-old boy found on beach after crocodile attack

Macabre discovery on a beach in Malaysia. This Sunday, the body of a 10-year-old schoolboy was found in Lahad Datu, a town located in the east of the state of Sabah. The child is believed to have died after being attacked by a saltwater crocodile, reports local media Bernama.

“Investigation revealed that the victim was swimming off the beach with five friends when he was grabbed by a crocodile and dragged into the sea. Family members and villagers tried to search for the boy, but without success. success,” said the local police chief.

According to him, the child’s body was found around 9:30 a.m. about 600 meters from where he disappeared. The head and one arm had been torn off. According to information from local media Daily Sunit was around 7 a.m. when the attack took place in the middle of this group of children aged 5 to 10 years old.

As soon as he was informed, the victim’s father immediately alerted the authorities and a major search system was deployed. After finally identifying the crocodile, he and his relatives reportedly managed to intercept it with a boat to recover the boy’s body.

Arriving on site shortly after the incident, the local wildlife service allegedly shot two other crocodiles in circumstances which have not been detailed. It is not known whether the animals were affected.
