Hezbollah threatens Israel with further attacks if its offensive continues

After launching a drone attack in the Haifa region this Sunday, October 13, the Lebanese movement affirmed that this strike “is only a foretaste of what awaits [Israël] if he decides to continue his attacks against our people.”

Lebanese Hezbollah threatened Israel this Monday, October 14, with further attacks if its offensive in Lebanon continues, after a drone strike targeting a military position in Haifa which killed at least four Israeli soldiers.

In a statement, Hezbollah affirmed that “the resistance (…) promises the enemy” that the attack “south of Haifa is only a foretaste of what awaits it if it decides to continue its attacks against our people.”

Sunday evening, Hezbollah claimed that its fighters had launched “a squadron of explosive drones on a training camp of the Golani brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa”, dedicating this attack to its leader Hassan Nasrallah, assassinated on the 27 September in an Israeli strike near Beirut.

The attack, which the Israeli army said killed four soldiers and seriously injured seven others near Israel’s main northern city, was the deadliest in Israel since the country entered into open war against the Hezbollah on September 23.

More than 1,300 deaths since mid-September in Lebanon

In its press release this Monday, Hezbollah welcomes a “complex operation”. He said he simultaneously launched dozens of missiles at various targets in the Nahariya and Acre regions in an attempt to “distract Israeli air defense systems.”

Some drones, some of which were used “for the first time”, were launched towards different sectors of Acre and Haifa and “managed to bypass anti-aircraft radars and reach their target in a training camp of the Golani brigade”, according to the movement.

The drones “exploded in rooms where dozens of Israeli enemy officers and soldiers were preparing to participate in the attack on Lebanon,” adds Hezbollah.

Hezbollah indicated Sunday evening that this attack was a “response to Zionist attacks, in particular on the neighborhoods of Noueiri and Basta” in the heart of Beirut, where at least 22 people were killed this Thursday, as well as in “other Lebanese regions”, where more than 1,300 people have died since the start of the campaign of massive Israeli strikes on September 23.
