LCI DOCUMENT – “At the heart of Hezbollah’s strongholds”: our exceptional report in Lebanon

Fifteen days after the death of pro-Iranian Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Lebanon is more tense than ever.

But what about the Shiite movement, how is it reorganizing itself?

An LCI team went to meet those who support him as part of a report broadcast on October 12.

A fortnight ago, it was one of the liveliest places in Beirut with more than half a million inhabitants. Today, Dahieh, the Arabic term for the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, is a ghost neighborhood where silence reigns amid rubble and still smoking ruins. Those who stayed no longer live there, they survive there.

No more buildings, no more streets, no more vehicles… since the intensification on September 23 of Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, a Hezbollah stronghold bordering northern Israel, the bombings have destroyed everything, as shows our major report “In the heart of Hezbollah’s strongholds” broadcast this Saturday on LCI and can be found at the top of this article.

Fifteen days after the death of pro-Iranian Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, what about the Shiite movement in this neighborhood where he reigned supreme? How is it reorganized? Who are his supporters, his relays in society, what are his intentions? These are the answers that our reporters sought on site to meet the small hands of the organization, from politicians, to humanitarians, including journalists and health personnel.
