In a presentation presented to the Government Council on the new developments for the start of the university year, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui noted that the total number of students increased between 5 and 6% in recent years, bringing this number to almost 1,3 million.

Mr. Miraoui noted that this new academic year, placed under the sign of “excellence, digitalization, empowerment”, “dedicates the implementation of strategic projects of the National Plan to accelerate the transformation of the higher education ecosystem, of scientific research and innovation (ESRI 2030 Pact)”.

On the other hand, the minister specified that the 2024-2025 academic year is marked by the completion of the project to implement the new educational model, to include the master’s degree and higher education establishments with regulated access.

To this is added, he continued, a training offer “diversified in line with national needs and priorities, through around 4,000 accredited sectors, while adopting innovative systems in harmony with the specificities of the new generation, via the development and launch of the smart Moroccan University application “MyMoroccanUniv” for the benefit of students, as part of the digital transformation project in Moroccan public universities.
