In the United States, this Saturday, a man attempted to set himself on fire in protest against the Israeli offensive in Gaza, during one of the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that mobilized thousands of people in the country.
An act that could have turned into a tragedy. This Saturday, October 5, in Washington (United States), a man claiming to be a journalist tried to self-immolate during a Pro-Palestinian mobilization.
More than a thousand demonstrators angry at the policies pursued by Joe Biden in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict gathered in Washington this Saturday, as well as throughout the country.
The events took place almost two hours after the start of the demonstration, when a man approached the group which was brandishing Palestinian and Lebanese flags, and attempted to set himself on fire.
According to images taken on site and relayed on social networks, the individual managed to set his left arm on fire before passers-by and police sprinkled him with water in order to extinguish the flames, particularly at the help of keffiyehs.
The man claimed that he was a journalist and that, through this act, he wanted to denounce “disinformation”. The American police finally clarified that his “injuries were not life-threatening”.
