Rabat – The government is closely monitoring the situation of the Moroccan community established in Lebanon, in a context of military escalation in this country, said Thursday in Rabat the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas.
Speaking at a press briefing following the Governing Council, the minister stressed that the executive continues to monitor the situation of the Moroccan community in Lebanon, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, noting that in this context, a crisis unit has been set up at the Kingdom’s embassy in Beirut.
This cell’s mission is to maintain direct contacts with members of the Moroccan community to guide them and ensure their security, he explained, noting that a certain number of citizens and their families have already left Lebanon and that No injuries were reported among them.
The government pays, through the supervisory ministry, particular attention to the situation of the Moroccan community in conflict or disaster zones in general, through the establishment of a permanent crisis unit in the organization chart of the ministry, he concluded.
