An Asian Champions League match between Sepahan SC and Istiklol Dushanbe last night took a…worrying turn to say the least when missiles passed over the stadium.
With the home team leading 4-0, players and spectators literally felt the threat of growing tensions in the Iranian region looming over their heads.
For the Sepahan and Istiklol Dushanbe players, it was a surreal experience. While the public in the stands watched this sad spectacle, the players had to continue the match in the shadow of war violence.
Among the players present on the field was also Kaveh Rezaeiformer player of Club Bruges, Charleroi and OHL. He played in Belgium from 2018 to 2022.
Revealed at Sporting de Charleroi, Rezaei then wore the colors of Bruges (14 matches, 1 goal) before returning on loan to the Zebras.
He then signed for Oud-Heverlee Louvain, where he played 13 games without scoring a single goal. He will then return to Iran, playing for Tractor FC and Sepahan.
