The “New York Times” supports Kamala Harris, a “patriotic choice” who does not have great electoral weight

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are neck and neck in the polls with just over a month to go before the elections and each is hunting for support. Both have heavyweights rallying behind them. Some have been more talked about than others, notably the collection of Republicans calling to support the Democratic candidate – including Liz Cheney and her former vice-president father under Bush Jr., Dick Cheney – or even Taylor Swift more recently . On the Donald Trump side, Elon Musk’s involvement in the campaign continues to make a big splash, on X in particular, and to bring millions in advertising to the right via his super PAC, the America PAC.

Monday, another actor, media this time, assumes leaning on one side, that of Kamala Harris: the venerable New York Timeswhich has just published a position paper entitled The Only Patriotic Choice For President“The only patriotic choice for the presidency” in French. In this long article, the newspaper’s opinion section details what makes the Californian a better choice on November 5 and for the next four years, including the fact that she is not Donald Trump, a man who lacks “wisdom, honesty, empathy, courage, restraint, humility, discipline”, making him simply “unfit to be president”. THE NOW also lists what would make Kamala Harris a good tenant of the White House, namely her commitment to protecting the rights of women, workers, small businesses or maintaining alliances with countries friendly to the United States, there where Donald Trump would be the president of the powerful, the rich and foreign autocrats.
