Donald Trump rules out running again in 2028 if he loses in November – Libération

The Republican candidate said on Sunday, September 22, that if he were to fail again in the presidential race, he “does not see himself” continuing in American politics for another four years.

A pleasing prospect. Donald Trump ruled out running for the 2028 US presidential election in an interview broadcast on Sunday, September 22, if he loses in the November election. “No, I don’t see myself there, I don’t see myself there”the 78-year-old Republican candidate said on Full Measure. “I can’t imagine that at all.”added the former president. “I think that will be all.”

The billionaire, however, said he hoped “a success” at the polls on November 5, facing Kamala Harris. On Saturday, he rejected the challenge launched by his Democratic rival to debate again before the election. “It is too late to organize a new debate, the vote has already started,” swept the former president, in reference to the start of early voting in some states of the country.

Since the dramatic withdrawal of President Joe Biden from the race, who was struggling in the polls, the outcome of the presidential election is more uncertain than ever. Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are neck and neck in several of the states where everything will probably be decided.

Notably, Donald Trump, who never acknowledged his defeat to Joe Biden in 2020, has refused several times in recent months to commit to unconditionally recognizing the result of the November election.
