The events took place on September 5 in a nursery school in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. In a video, filmed by a mother of a student present in the class and broadcast on September 9, we see the teacher violently hitting a little girl in tears in the back. Other events dating back to September 3, the day after the start of the school year, are also denounced, according to the child’s family’s counsel, Me Vanessa Edberg.

According to the lawyer, the girl was starting her first year of nursery school and had previously told her mother about “beatings” by the teacher.
The resigning Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet, announced on X the same evening as the broadcast that she had requested “the immediate launch of disciplinary proceedings, with the immediate suspension of the teacher”.

Mr Edberg announced to AFP on Monday that he had filed a second complaint on Friday for a mother who accuses the same teacher of having slapped her child, then aged three, twelve years ago.I’m not surprised she was taken into custody.“in view of”the damning video” And “evidence“presented in the second complaint, in particular”many letters“sent to the Rectorate at the time,” she told AFP.

The teacher’s lawyer, Laurent Hazan, assured Le Figaro on Friday that his client, a mother in her fifties, was “in shock“and that she regretted”his gesture“. He deplored the “hasty reaction” of the minister who, according to him, “helped to conceal the malaise in National Education“.
