After having declared economic war on Canada with a view to annexing it, after having expressed his intention to take Panama and Greenland by force, Donald Trump is proposing to move the Palestinian people who inhabit the strip to Egypt or Jordan. from Gaza.
Trump admirers should reread the UN definition of genocide. Displacing a people by force from a territory they have occupied for more than a millennium does indeed constitute genocide.
It is easy to understand that then these territories would be open to Jewish settlers and in particular to religious fundamentalists.
To the great misfortune of the Palestinians, they lost the Gaza war. They are also losing the West Bank. Israel is taking their land, in what seems to have been the long-standing project of many Israelis.
“An elite people, self-confident and dominant,” declared General de Gaulle in a famous conference delivered in 1967. Well, here we are.
In the name of money and expansionism
The American government has therefore just completely abandoned the Palestinians. A 180 degree turn. Say that many Muslim and pro-Palestinian voters supported Trump. How stupid of them.
It is far from certain that Egypt and Jordan would agree to receive a population of 2.4 million people.
But Trump doesn’t care. He also makes fun of international law. He probably does not know that the policies of forced displacement of populations bring him closer to the practices of Stalin.
For their part, Israeli extremist leaders applaud Trump’s new statement.
-Trump also echoed the comments of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who sees these seaside lands as an extraordinary opportunity for real estate development.
Palestinians are therefore being asked to leave their ancestral lands in the name of Israel’s money and expansionism.
The Palestinian state project ultimately appears to have been nothing more than a rattle left to those who, in Israel, in Palestine and in the world, believe in a decent policy.
No justification
Nothing justifies genocide. The Palestinians certainly voted for Hamas 20 years ago, but no elections have been held in Gaza since. The fate of Gazans ended up in the hands of religious fundamentalists who ruled by terror.
Hamas bears immense responsibility for what is happening in Gaza. However, virtually all Israeli governments have refused to support the existence of a real Palestinian state.
Trump has just exposed in broad daylight the reasons why most Israeli governments are blocking this project.
He also comes to side with the genocidaires.
After such a statement, Ukrainians can only fear what this new duce will try to negotiate with Vladimir Putin.
