After hitting the headlines in 2017, he made his triumphant return to the White House: we are of course talking about the famous “Diet Coke button”, dear to the heart of Donald Trump. “Everyone gets a little tense when I press this button,” the Republican laughed in 2017. During an interview in the Oval Office in 2019, journalist Tom Newton Dunn was able to see with his own eyes the presence of a red button hidden in a wooden box, on the president’s desk. “Trump finally pressed it and a butler quickly brought a Diet Coke on a silver platter,” he said.

An effective way for the Republican to satisfy his passion for this caffeinated drink: he would consume a dozen per day. After being eradicated by Joe Biden, the famous red button is taking up residence in the Oval Office, announces the “Wall Street Journal”. Last week, the Coca-Cola Company gave Donald Trump a commemorative bottle to celebrate his inauguration, a tradition that dates back to 2015. Eight years ago, the company made the mistake of donating him a bottle of classic Coke, while the billionaire does not consume it: he is only a fan of the light version of this drink.

On Monday, while Donald Trump’s inauguration was in full swing, White House decorators worked hard to transform the presidential office. Carpets, paintings and other statues were replaced according to the tastes of the 47th President of the United States. Thus, the Oval Office version 2024-2028 strongly resembles that of 2016-2020, Donald Trump having adopted a good part of the decoration that he had chosen at the start of his first term.
