After nine days of closure, the emergency department of the Pays de Savoie Private Hospital (HPPS), in Annemasse, reopened its doors this Friday morning, reports “The Dauphiné Libéré”. The security of the establishment was reinforced by the presence of an additional security agent available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This closure was decided by the management of the establishment following the violent attack on his nursing staff by two brothers last week.

The events took place on Wednesday January 8around 11 p.m., when one of the men went to the emergency room with work-related injuries. The situation quickly degenerated when his brother, unhappy with the waiting times, attacked the nursing staff. Results of the violence: thirteen victims among hospital staff, twelve of whom received ITTs ranging from one to six days.

Tried in immediate appearance on Monday January 13, the alleged attackers saw their trial postponed to February 17. The hospital, which was to reopen its emergency department the same day, announced that it would ultimately remain closed until further notice.
