Nawaf Salam, Lebanon’s new prime minister, has resigned as judge president of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), effective immediately, the UN’s top court said on Tuesday.
“Mr. Judge Nawaf Salam, President of the International Court of Justice, has resigned from his position as a member of the Court with effect from today, January 14, 2025,” the court said in a statement.
