A former municipal councilor in Brazil who lost the elections took away the toilets and two sinks that she had installed when she took office in her office, before putting them back in their place after the outcry caused by her unusual gesture.

Janaína Lima, former elected official in the city of Sao Paulo, who says she is proud of the achievements accomplished, tried to explain her gesture in a press release relayed on the X platform, regretting however “any inconvenience caused”.

Surveillance cameras showed employees dismantling sanitary facilities in the office of the now ex-adviser of the Brazilian Democratic Movement, who lost her seat after eight years of rule, according to what the BBC reported.

“I decided to donate to the Chamber the equipment that I acquired with my own resources, thus reinforcing my respect for the Institution and the cooperative relationship that I have always maintained with my colleagues,” indicated the 41 year old woman.

During his inauguration, Adrilles Jorge, new municipal councilor from the Labor Party who succeeds Ms. Lima, was surprised to find an office completely bare, including its sink, according to the British media.
