In Russia, an AI server was reportedly designed specifically to power a disinformation campaign during the 2024 US presidential election.
The 2024 presidential election was fertile ground for digital manipulation. Disinformation campaigns have targeted the two main political parties, spreading misleading content aimed not only at discrediting the candidates, but also undermining confidence in the entire electoral process.
During this period, Russia was repeatedly accused of carrying out sophisticated election interference operations. The objective: to influence American public opinion through the widespread dissemination of false information. Two months after the election, the US Treasury Department announced sanctions against a Russian organization, accused of having interfered in the presidential campaign.
