Like every year, for New Year's Eve on the 31st, the town hall arranges the public spaces. The fireworks will mark the transition to the new year. Fir trees are installed almost everywhere, the tree branches are completely garlanded with small loupiotes. “The Special Delegate initiated weeding and gutter cleaning operations during the holiday period. Our teams are everywhere to make our city attractive,” declared Idelien Ngapaga, director at the General Directorate of Environment at City Hall (HDV).
Making the city of Libreville attractive before, during and after the festival is the challenge of the municipal authorities. City hall then hired the services of a private security company to keep public spaces permanently clean. “We must be happy to see our city transform on this holiday eve. It is our mission to ensure the cleanliness of the city,” confides calmly, Martin Magloire, responsible for the security of public spaces.

At the Nzeng Ayong roundabout in the 6th arrondissement, young amateur photographers are on the lookout for visitors to its imposing fir tree. “I would say that it is special because everyone wants to take photos during the holidays and especially in front of this blue fir tree…”, says Hans Boussamba, amateur photographer.
