French President Emmanuel Macron denounced on Friday an “unacceptable logic of escalation” by Russia in Ukraine and insisted that France would continue to help kyiv as “intensely and for a long time” as necessary regardless of Russian threats, the Elysée reported, and this, until “Russia’s war of aggression is defeated”.
During a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, the head of state “condemned with the greatest firmness Russia’s indiscriminate strikes which continue to intensify against cities, against civilians and against energy infrastructure of Ukraine,” said the French presidency.
“These strikes, the increased cooperation with North Korea, and the irresponsible rhetoric that accompanies them, are part of an unacceptable logic of escalation on the part of Russia, which continues to pursue a revisionist, brutal and imperialist design in violation sovereign rights of Ukraine and the Charter of the United Nations,” added Mr. Macron.
