The director general of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was officially reappointed on Friday for a second term, amid a breakdown in global trade and the looming Trump presidency that could threaten go against commercial rules.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, 70, the organization’s first woman and first African boss, was the only candidate in the running for the four-year post, but she still needed to win approval from all 166 member states.
