ANALYSE – A great deal of fog surrounds the president-elect's intentions regarding the fate of Ukraine and the upcoming face-to-face with Putin.
A heavy fog surrounds President-elect Donald Trump's intentions on the Ukraine issue. Some days, we are startled and almost indulge in a dark pessimism, when we read on X the scathing declaration of the son of the future boss of America, Donald Jr, noting that Zelensky does not have long to wait before we take away “his pocket money” (understand American military aid). The lack of understanding of the gravity of the Russian global threat, and the contempt shown for the immensity of the sacrifices made by Ukraine to survive as a sovereign state, which this reaction reveals, is chilling.
The way in which son Trump also reacted to “fools” of the Biden administration which authorized under certain conditions the firing of ATACMS on Russian territory to help the Ukrainians regain control reflects a crass ignorance of the psychology of the Kremlin which, as Polish general Rajmund Andrzejczak reminds us in our columns , only includes “strength”.
