The two Namur residents who survived the shipwreck in the Red Sea in Egypt survived by remaining 35 hours in an air bubble. On Wednesday, in a video posted on social networks, they recounted their trauma. In particular, they had difficulties with the insurance which did not directly do everything possible to bring them back.
This Thursday morning, the news is good for Lucianna and Christophe, who escaped death after the sinking of the “Sea Story” in Egypt. “We will be able to return to Belgium. Yesterday morning, in my opinion, I had someone from the call center who perhaps responded in a somewhat robotic way, and asked if we had a medical emergency, if We were injured. We weren’t really injured, so they said they couldn’t repatriate us, but it was resolved very quickly.”confides Christophe.
This morning, the Namurois arrived at the immigration center in Egypt with their temporary passports. “We have to put a stamp on it to be able to leave the country. And a priori, we don’t have a return date yet, but we should return before Sunday, we were told, in the next few days.”
Christophe adds that they are still “in shock” after this ordeal. “We have slept very little for three days. We are very tired. Yes, we would like to have, surely for the rest, in the weeks to come, need help from everyone.”
The two Belgians “lost everything” in this shipwreck. “Apart from the phone with which I speak to you, we lost our entire life in this boat. We are alive, that’s the main thing, but we lost everything that is material. We know that in the weeks to come , we’re going to have to take care of all that too”, concludes Christophe.
