Italian village that sells houses for one euro now targets Americans disappointed by Trump’s election

Dince 2018, the village of Ollolai, in Sardinia, has been selling houses for one euro to revitalize its center. Many homes had been abandoned for thirty years, overgrown with vegetation. Often only the original walls remained. Thus, the “house for one euro” project was launched.

However, the initiative is not enough and the number of inhabitants increased from 1,200 to 1,150 inhabitants. From now on, local authorities have decided to turn to Americans disappointed with the result of the presidential election.

A new website has been launched, specially designed to attract disappointed or worried American voters after the presidential elections. “Are you exhausted by politics? Do you want to adopt a more balanced lifestyle while exploring new opportunities? Discover this magnificent paradise in Sardinia,” we can read on the site.

“We cannot prevent other nationalities from participating, but American applicants will benefit from an expedited procedure. We are counting on them to bring life back to our village,” explains the village mayor.
