The day after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, several people disappointed by the result expressed more or less extreme resolutions. American star Eva Longoria notably indicated moving to Mexico and Spain, no longer accepting to live in the United States. Others opted for a less radical but equally novel solution: going on a cruise during Trump’s four years in office.

Properties between 1 and 100,000 euros

Now it’s Italy’s turn to propose a way for Americans to escape the billionaire’s power, which this time could also attract seasick people. The village of Ollolai, in Sardinia, has launched a website aimed at American expatriates listing cheap housing, the price of which ranges between 1 (for properties to be renovated) and 100,000€ (for a habitable house as is). “Are you exhausted by world politics? Are you looking to adopt a more balanced lifestyle while offering yourself new opportunities? It’s time to start planning your European getaway to the beautiful paradise of Sardinia“, explains the online platform.
