A 41-year-old Georgia woman who left her 10-year-old child unattended to wander outside to a village store in the countryside has been arrested.

Patterson went to her doctor with her other son, leaving her other son Soren alone at home in Mineral Bluff.

The young boy went more than a kilometer from his house to walk to a store in the village, according to NBC News.

“This stretch of road is not dangerous at all. I wasn’t worried about her safety,” the American explained to the local media, as if to play down things.

It was the police who found the child alone who called the mother to inform her that her son had gone to town unaccompanied, before taking him home.

The forty-year-old thought that History would end there, but the police returned later to arrest her for negligence.

The 41-year-old woman who was released on bail of US$500 plans to contest her indictment which could earn her up to a year in prison, according to the American media.

“Are all parents going to have to put a GPS on their child? It’s up to the parents to decide for their offspring,” protested David DeLugas, Ms. Brittany’s lawyer.
