VIDEO – The 3D image will be projected from November 9 to 16 on the street where Bernadett Szabo was found dead in 2009.

Bernadett Szabo, a 19-year-old sex worker from the red light district, was brutally murdered on February 20, 2009. Fifteen years after her murder, the Dutch police used her hologram to try to elucidate this case. The perpetrator of the crime was never arrested and the case was closed.

The life-size hologram shows the blonde-haired young woman wearing only shorts and a bra. Standing in a window, his hologram blows on the glass before the word “help» appears in the mist. Around it, signs provide information about the life of the sex worker as well as her murder.

A reward of 30,000 euros

The 3D image depicting Bernadett Szabo will be projected from November 9 to 16 on the street where she was found dead. Originally from Hungary, the victim moved to Amsterdam at the age of 18 before becoming a sex worker in the city’s red light district.

The objective is that “people will remember the case again when they see the hologram“, explains Anne Dreijer-Heemskerk, from the cold case team of the Amsterdam police. The latter is convinced that “many people know who committed this crime”, due to the frequentation of the place. To encourage them to cooperate, the police are offering a reward of 30,000 euros for any information leading to the resolution of the case.
