Better mood and good sleep

And it appears from the results that “sauna users are happier, sleep better, have more energy, and rate their mental and physical health better than the group that does not use a sauna“. One of the authors of the study, Hans Hägglund, also explains that the weekly frequency of the practice does not change much, contrary to what one might think: “The best solution seems to be to do a sauna one to four times a month. The followers seem to be the happiest. Using the sauna more often than this, for example 2 to 7 times per week, does not further improve mental or physical health or energy levels“.

It now remains to be seen how sauna enthusiasts find themselves happier and in better shape, that is to say, what are the precise effects which trigger this well-being which lasts over time. The researchers, who carried out their study in 2022, therefore wish to deepen their research.

In the meantime, if you like the sauna and your health allows you to practice it (the sauna should be avoided in cases of heart problems, hypertension or hypotension and circulatory disorders, in particular), do not hesitate. This will undoubtedly do you the greatest good!
