Two American and Dutch tourists have disappeared in the space of three days while walking on Greek islands, while the country is in the grip of a terrible heat wave.

These worrying disappearances come as another vacationer who had been missing for several days was found dead on June 10 on the Greek island of Symi. An intermittent dieter and TV star doctor in the United Kingdom, Michael Mosley died shortly after falling ill while walking in scorching temperatures, according to police findings.

For several days, Greece has been experiencing a torrid heat wave which reached its peak on Thursday, according to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service, which issued an orange alert for a heatwave.
