A problem already highlighted by the immigration deputy, Abdelouahab Yagoubi, who announced the availability of appointments, for members of the diaspora, for the renewal of their biometric documents.

The diaspora faced with the unavailability of appointments at consulates
As a reminder, the Algerian authorities put in place, for the previous summer season, a facilitation allowing dual nationals to travel to Algeria with an expired Algerian passport or identity card without first requesting a visa; this measure ended last October.
In this wake, the deputy for immigration, Abdelouahab Yagoubi announced, in a publication, the unavailability of appointments at several Algerian consulates. “ Our consulates’ appointment booking platforms suffer from recurring bugs, complicating essential procedures for users. These dysfunctions reveal a lack of effective management and investment, thus penalizing our fellow citizens“, writes the MP who highlights the unavailability of appointments for passport renewal until June 2025.
