She justifies this transfer, denounced by NGOs, by the “psychological fragility” of the student, who was protesting against the way in which she had been treated by militiamen.

The Iranian student arrested Saturday in Tehran after undressing in public was “transferred by ambulance from social emergency services to a specialized care center”announced the Iranian embassy in Paris in a press release on Wednesday November 6. “The student in question suffers from psychological fragility”justifies the embassy, which does not specify the name of the establishment.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Hossein Simaei called“immoral” the behavior of the young woman, without giving any indication of her fate.
This student at the prestigious Azad University in Tehran was arrested on Saturday after stripping down to her underwear, to, according to the activist groups that revealed the case, protest against the harassment of security agents who accused her of not not respect the strict Islamic dress code, which notably requires the wearing of the veil.
In videos that have gone viral, she is seen walking slowly in front of the establishment, in panties and a bra, before being roughly taken into a car by men in civilian clothes.
The NGO Amnesty International reported Tuesday evening on X “alarming information” on a transfer of the student to a psychiatric hospital and recalled that “the Iranian authorities equate the rejection of the compulsory veil with a ‘mental disorder’ requiring ‘treatment'”.
The student, mother of two children and separated from her husband, “once recovered, will resume her studies at the university” if the establishment accepts it, adds the embassy press release, insisting on the fact that it is “a private matter”.
The head of French diplomacy, Jean-Noël Barrot, assured that Paris “followed attentively” his case. On Tuesday, a rally in support of the student, at the call of feminist organizations, was held in Paris, near the Pantheon.
