Four people were injured during an ax brawl on Monday in the RER E at Ozoir-la-Ferrière station, southeast of Paris, we learned from police sources. One person was arrested.
A fight involving several people, including minors, broke out for a reason still unknown around 8:00 a.m. in the RER E. According to a police source, the four victims – minors aged 16 and 17 – were attacked while they were were going to high school. They were transported to hospital for treatment, the source added. Their vital prognosis was not in jeopardy.
Impressive injuries
One of the victims had his hand cut off and another had his head cut open with an axe, the same source added. Two others were more lightly injured.
The main suspect, aged 16, was arrested at his home and placed in police custody, a police source told AFP. An ax was found and seized during the search.
The fight took place while the train was at the platform, so that “neither RER E traffic nor that of the station was impacted,” the SNCF was told.
The perpetrators used several bladed weapons: knife, axe, katana and baseball bats. An investigation into intentional violence in meetings has been opened.
