Dhe nighttime bad weather has led to flooding and landslides in southwestern Norway, local media reported on Friday. Bad weather spread to neighboring Sweden on Friday afternoon where thousands of families were without electricity.

Precipitation decreased on Friday morning, meteorologist Julie Solsvik Vågane told broadcaster NRK, but the flood and landslide alert was maintained. No injuries or missing people have been reported at this time, the police note.

Access to the town of Odda – home to around 5,000 residents and located around 60 kilometers southeast of Bergen – was cut off on Friday morning after a bridge collapsed.

The bad weather then reached Sweden on Friday afternoon. The Swedish weather service warned of gusty winds, especially in the south and east of the country. Several train connections were interrupted and more than 12,000 families in southern Sweden were affected by power outages.
