After a slight lull, the controversy over the high cost of Air Algérie tickets between France and Algeria rebounds a few days before the start of the summer season.

Extinguished by the Osra offer which was launched by the Algerian airline on April 22, the controversy over the high price of plane tickets between France and Algeria has just been relaunched by the MP for emigration, Abdelouahab Yagoubi.

“Apart from the Osra offer, it costs 800 euros for a Paris-Algiers round trip this summer”noted the Algerian parliamentarian in a statement to TSA, this Friday, May 24.

In addition to the high prices, places are becoming scarce. For example, the Air Algérie reservation system is full for a one-way trip on July 24 from Paris CDG to Algiers and a return on July 27 on the same route.

Air Algérie: return of the controversy over tickets

The Air Algérie online reservation platform displays the following message this Friday at 11:10 a.m. (Algerian time): “There is no availability on the selected flights/dates. Please change your selection ».

For a reservation between Paris CDG and Algiers on June 24, Air Algérie offers tickets starting from 245.91 euros for one way. For the return, the reservation system offers prices starting from 44.07 euros.

Launched on April 22, Air Algérie’s Osra offer, which is intended for families, sold out quickly and the national airline has not launched other promotions for other categories of travelers such as students or young people. .

Algeria France flights: “Ticket prices are still exorbitant”

For MP Yagoubi, the prices of plane tickets between France and Algeria are “always exorbitant”. “Despite all the efforts and contacts that I have undertaken to raise the concerns of our national community abroad in the transport sector, ticket prices are still exorbitant”he denounced.

The parliamentarian affirms that the reception conditions in Algerian airports and ports are “disastrous, and the control procedures when entering and leaving the territory are multiple and tiring. »

On top of all this, we are seeing a big problem with scheduling, cancellations and changes of crossing routes to and from Algerian ports to French and Spanish ports.

“This happens and recurs frequently without showing any attention to customers with unbearable negligence such as not even informing them “sufficiently” in advance to guarantee their rights and ensure that they travel comfortably and above all with dignity”he mentions again in his statement.

Deputy Yagoubi decided to bring the matter before the APN by addressing this oral question to the Minister of Transport, Habib Zahana.

“Far from the advertisements, how long will we continue to raise the same concerns without the government taking serious action to resolve them once and for all on the ground? ».
