Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan discussed bilateral relations and joint issues with his Japanese counterpart Yoko Kamikawa.

This call comes the day after the announcement by the Japanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Fumio Iwai, on “X” relating to the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Tokyo which had been postponed due to the state health of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Although the Japanese ambassador did not specify the planned date or the new date for the Saudi crown prince’s visit, no official comment has been issued by Riyadh on the matter.

On Sunday evening, the Saudi Royal Cabinet announced that the country’s king had been subjected to “antibiotic treatment” after what turned out to be “a lung infection.”

This follows a Royal Court statement reported by the official Saudi news agency SPA that King Salman will undergo medical examinations at the royal clinics at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah as he suffers from fever and joint pain. .

King Salman took power in Saudi Arabia in 2015, after serving for two and a half years as the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz’s crown prince and deputy prime minister.
