The 14th edition of the Prize for Social Entrepreneurship in Africa and the Middle East (PESAM) was launched at the Orange Digital Center headquarters. Three winners were rewarded: a first prize of 5 million FCFA, a second of 4 million and a third of 3 million.

Ms. Awa Niang, Director of Orange Digital Center, opened the event by highlighting the importance of the award since 2011 for start-ups with a social impact. She mentioned the success of projects like Rounelabs and ION, which benefited from Orange’s support.

Ms. Aminata Niang, Deputy Director of Sonatel, mentioned the evaluation of more than 120 projects in three months to designate the winners, emphasizing the importance of supporting start-ups internationally.

The winner, founder of “Little Things”, told her story. Passionate about pastry, she promotes Senegalese products through culinary creations, which earned her the first prize of 5 million FCFA.

The ceremony concluded with a message of encouragement for innovation among young Africans.
