Three prison officers died Tuesday morning in the attack on their van which was transporting an inmate between Rouen and Evreux, in the north-west of France, we learned from a police Source.

“Three prison officers died as victims of shotgun fire” during the attack around 11 a.m. (09:00 GMT) “at the ram car” at the Incarville tollbooth in the Eure of a van which was transporting a detained, said the same Source. He fled.

According to another police Source, the attack was carried out by a commando of several criminals who used two vehicles, the number of which is unknown.

One of these vehicles was found shortly after the events, “charred”, in a location which was not specified by this Source.

The first police Source indicated that the criminals had fled and that one of them was injured.
