The “White Plan” was launched at the Martinique University Hospital Center this Thursday, October 10. The health establishment refers to the “social context on the island since yesterday which has resulted in significant disruptions to the activities” of the hospital.
Due to the urban violence that has been taking place since yesterday evening (Wednesday October 9), the Martinique University Hospital Center is activating its White Plan.
In a press release, the health establishment highlights “the social context on the island since yesterday [qui] results in significant disruptions to the activities of the Martinique University Hospital due in particular to the impossibility for professionals to return to their workstations or for patients to keep their appointments.
Consequently, in order to promote continuity of care:
- staff are invited to organize themselves to reach their workstation in accordance with the directives of their local management which has nominative travel certificates,
- depending on the specificities of each activity, rescheduling of surgical procedures or consultations are organized. However, particular attention is paid to urgent or cancer-related interventions.
Canceled appointments will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
The hospital community calls for everyone’s understanding to allow the staff and partners of the Martinique University Hospital to be able to carry out their missions in the interest of all (staff travel, ambulances, taxis, transport of blood samples, medicines, etc.).
