Iran announces resumption of flights

Iranian authorities announced on Monday the resumption of flights departing from and arriving in the country, after cancellations “due to operational constraints”, in a context of threats of Israeli retaliation, state media reported.

The flights have been operational again since 11:00 p.m. (7:30 p.m. GMT) on Sunday and they are “carried out in accordance with the initial schedule,” said Jafar Yazarloo, spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, quoted by the news agency. Irna.

On Sunday, this same authority announced the cancellation of flights at certain airports in the country until Monday 6:00 a.m. (02:30 GMT), citing “operational constraints”.

Iran launched 200 missiles towards Israel on Tuesday evening, in its second direct attack against its archenemy, following missile and drone attacks in April.

Tehran said its attack was in retaliation for the assassinations in Lebanon of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and a top Iranian general, Abbas Nilforoushan, killed by an Israeli strike on September 27.

Israel says it is preparing a response to the Iranian missile attack.

The head of Iranian diplomacy Abbas Araghchi warned that “for every action, there will be a proportional and similar reaction from Iran, and even stronger”, raising fears of an escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
