XALIMANEWS- In 2023, agents outside the full-time service have an effective weekly working duration of 41, 3 hours, a total of 1968 hours of work in the year, according to a report from the ANSD, cited by Pulse.

The document indicates that the average weekly duration worked per employee in the modern sector excluding public administration is estimated at 41.3 hours in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to 41.5 hours in the corresponding quarter of the previous year., a drop of 0.4%. This situation is mainly attributable to the reduction in average weekly hours worked in services (-1.7%) and in construction (-0.7%). On the other hand, over the same period, they increased in the industry (+0.2%) and commerce (+0.5%) sub-sectors.

In the construction sector, workers received 32.1% of the remuneration while senior managers and senior technicians received, respectively, 25.4% and 16.0% of the payroll paid. As for technicians and supervisors working in construction, they received 26.4% of the payroll paid in the fourth quarter of 2023 in this sector of activity.

In commerce, senior managers received 34.4% of remuneration for the fourth quarter of 2023. Technicians and supervisors received 28.4% of remuneration, while workers and senior technicians received, respectively, 21.5% and 15.6% of salaries. Regarding services, more than two thirds of the payroll for the fourth quarter of 2023 is paid to senior executives (33.3%) and technicians and supervisors (35.1%).

Senior technicians and workers received 16.6% and 15.0% respectively. Parallel to the distribution of the workforce, 72.8% of salaries paid to permanent staff in the fourth quarter of 2023 are received by men. Depending on the type of activity, a similar distribution is observed in all branches of activity except specialized scientific and technical activities where 53.7% of salaries are received by women.

Furthermore, a fairly considerable share of permanent remuneration in the sub-sectors of education (42.4%), and social action (42.1%) and financial and insurance activities (40.8%) is paid to women.
