In a press release published Monday April 29, the airline Kenya Airways announced the suspension of its flights to Kinshasa (DRC).
Kenya Airways says it is protesting the “continued detention” of its two employees by the Military Detection of Anti-Homeland Activities (DEMIAP).
“ The continued detention of our employees has made it difficult to supervise our operations in Kinshasa, which include customer service, ground handling, cargo activities and generally ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations », Specifies the press release.
The company ” is unable to effectively continue its flights without personnel ”, and sees herself obliged to take “ the difficult decision to suspend flights to Kinshasa from April 30, 2024 until we can effectively resume these flights “.
Without mentioning the reasons for the arrest of its agents, the Kenyan firm says it is prepared to cooperate with the investigative bodies and government entities concerned in the DRC and Kenya in order to guarantee the resolution of this matter.
