”This third big door is not yet closed”, admitted to BFM a source close to the matter who explains: “To close a door, you need a bunch of clues. We add up the indices that go in one direction or the other and if these indices are negative and the possibility diminishes, we end up closing the door. But sometimes doors remain open for a long time, even after a file has been closed.”
Disappearance of little Emile: should we rule out the domestic incident disguised by the family? “Everything can still change”
On 1:15 p.m. on France 2, the mayor of Vernet François Balique affirmed, this Saturday, November 18, in front of Laurent Delahousse, his conviction as to the outcome of this affair. The mayor also had to answer the investigators’ questions as a potential suspect, like all the villagers. “We know each other. We know that people could not have done such a thing but investigators have no preconceptions”, estimates the man who has been mayor for 46 years. “This is definitely not someone from the village. That’s for sure”, he says. “I don’t even have a doubt that anyone would have done such a thing. It’s like a family. We still know each other. I have been mayor long enough. I know my constituents. There, I speak to you from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of my thoughts”, insists François Balique.
-Two months after Emile’s disappearance, residents spoke out: “We suspected that he had not disappeared alone, now we are sure of it”
The mayor of Vernet also expresses his doubts surrounding this mysterious disappearance. “I still have this apprehension: what if we don’t find it? That would mean that the village would have to live with this situation, it’s going to be difficult,” he explains. “I can’t wait for us to know what happened, it would free us. It would remove this weight that weighs on our minds and our hearts”, concludes the mayor with emotion.
